We use three different methods to print your CD-R's offering you probably the
widest choice and flexibility possible. Scroll down to read just a little more
about each method and it's ideal uses. If you're still not sure and you want a
sample just pick up the phone or e-mail us.

This is the 'professional' method of printing your discs. Minimum run quantity
is 50 discs. For every colour in your artwork design we (or you) output a film separation.
From this we then create a 'silk screen'. This is a fabric mesh stretched over a
frame and when we expose the film to the screen it creates an image within the
mesh which allows ink to pass through (similar to and often referred to as a
stencil). Depending on how many colours are being printed we repeat this process
for each one and then once on the machine the CD's pass under one screen at a
time to have the image printed directly onto the top surface of the disc. As
each colour is printed so the final image is created. We can print a maximum of
5 colours plus any additional coating that may be required.
Something to remember:
Your CD
starts off silver. If your design will look best printed over a white CD rather
than silver then please tell us. This usually occurs when printing CMYK process
colours and often when printing spot colours.

This is a great way to print full colour
photo quality designs directly onto a CD without the cost of film output and
screen creation. The printers we use are
built in the UK around an Epson print engine and offer superb quality. We simply
require your artwork supplied as a .tiff file or .eps suitable for a PC and
sized to our specifications. We can print onto white CD's as standard or silver
CD's if required.
Something to remember:
The ink is
water based. That means that with a big enough thumb you can probably smudge it.
We apply a sealant lacquer as standard to the printed disc to combat this and recommend
that if the CD's are to be packed into plastic or PVC wallets that this is
done.

The original quality print method. Ideally
suited for black text designs printed directly onto silver or white CD's.
Although we can print graphics the resolution is only 300dpi and as such we may
get a blocky pixelated image. Simply provide us with a copy of the text you need
with fonts and point sizes and we'll re-type the design for you. Alternatively
you can save your design as a .tiff but use Greyscale colour and don't use LZW
compression.
Something to remember:
We can also
print colour but would recommend one of the other methods as the low print
resolution coupled with the high cost means you won't get the most for your
money.
